We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it in accordance with GDPR and EU privacy law.
2. What this app does
Groovio is a party jukebox app where:
- A host connects their Spotify account locally
- Guests can search and queue songs
- Music is played through the host device
We do not provide streaming. Spotify handles playback.
3. Personal data we collect
We currently do NOT collect or store any personal data.
- No user accounts
- No email collection
- No analytics or tracking
- No profiling
- No IP logging beyond hosting requirements
- No cookies (except those required by Stripe if you donate)
We only process anonymous functional data in memory while the app is running (for example, the current room and queue). This is not stored permanently.
4. Payments (Stripe)
If you choose to support the project by buying a tea, payment is handled securely by Stripe. Stripe may process payment details, billing country, and device data. Stripe is an independent data controller for payment processing.

We do not receive or store your card details.
5. Spotify
If you are the host, you may connect your Spotify account locally to enable playback. Spotify handles authentication and playback.

We do not have access to your Spotify credentials.
6. Legal basis under GDPR
Where any processing occurs, it is based on:
- Legitimate interest: operating a functional jukebox service
- Contract: when you choose to use the app
- Consent: if you donate via Stripe
7. Data retention
We do not store user data.
Temporary functional data (e.g., queues) is deleted when:
- The room is closed
- The app restarts
- The server resets
Stripe retains payment records in accordance with financial law.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data
- Restrict processing
- Complain to your Data Protection Authority

This app is not intended for children under 13.
